In the San Diego Airport after a week in San Diego. A work conference followed by a dive trip off Catalina with the Sundiver Express. I logged 3 dives. Here’s a short edit of the highlights.

Reading Co-Intelligence by Ethan Mollick

Two people I respect have recommended this book highly. Pandu Nayak and Harper Reed. I purchased this book earlier in the year but just digging in now.

Reading North Woods by Daniel Mason

Reading East of Eden by John Steinbeck

Reading The Count of Monte Cristo reminded me how good the classics can be. I read Grapes of Wrath in high school but never went further with Steinbeck.

Reading Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson

When you finish a Brandon Sanderson book, it’s hard to leave the Cosmere. After Wind and Truth, picking up one of the Secret Projects books (I absolutely loved Tress of the Emerald Sea last year).

Reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas

It seems this book is one of the most often recommended in places like /r/suggestmeabook. Excited to dig in.

Reading Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson

This will probably destory my read count for the year, but who cares. Can’t believe the conclusion to the first arc of Brandon Sanderson’s The Stormlight Archive is finally here.

Reading The Pirate Hunter by Richard Zacks

4th book of the year on ocean voyages, exploration, and sunket treasure!

This past week I was in Austin, TX for a work event. Beyond work, I had the opportunity to participate in a fireside chat with the graduating class from the University of Texas at Austin - The School of Design and Creative Technologies. It’s always inspiring to get to talk with the next generation of designers.
